Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between checking myself and having an agent check?
The Department's system can only find marks that exactly or closely match the search term you enter. An experienced agent interprets "similarity" the way the registrar actually applies the standard in practice, which is broader than an exact text match.
If a similar mark is found, what should I do?
Our team will suggest options such as adjusting part of the mark, changing the class or goods/services list, or assessing the risk if you still want to file as originally planned.
Does the search cover countries outside Thailand?
The basic search covers the Thailand database. If you want to extend the search internationally, our team can coordinate additional checks for the countries you're interested in.
If no duplicate mark is found, does that guarantee registration will succeed?
No, it's not a guarantee. The search result is a preliminary opinion to help assess risk before you decide to file. Approval depends on the registrar's discretion at the actual substantive examination stage, which may weigh factors beyond what's searchable in the database.
How long does it take to get the search report?

Does the search cover just the name/word, or the logo too?
Both. Our team checks for similarity of the name/word through the tmsearch.ipthailand.go.th system, and visual similarity of the image/logo through the Department's tm-imagesearch.ipthailand.go.th system.
Should I check every class, or just the one I plan to file in?
We recommend checking both the class you intend to file in and closely related classes, since the registrar may in some cases consider similarity across classes if the goods/services are commercially related.
What does the THB 3,000 search fee include?
